Michael Dunlop New Brand Ambassador for D3O
Isle of Man TT star Michael Dunlop is to become a brand ambassador for D3O, the world leaders in impact protection and shock absorption solutions.
The 27-year-old, who has 13 career race wins at the TT, will provide input on new product developments as well as continuing to wear custom D3O back and limb protectors in his Furygan race suit.
Stuart Sawyer, Chief Executive of D3O, said: “The Isle of Man TT is one of the fastest and most extreme motorcycle races in the world and Michael Dunlop is one of its biggest stars.
Michael Dunlop talking in the D3O laboratory “Michael constantly pushes the boundaries of both bike and man, bringing a wealth of expertise to the D3O development team to ensure that D3O motorcycle products continue to be market leaders in protection.”
Michael rode the fastest-ever lap around the Isle of Man course on his way to winning last year’s RST Superbike TT race, becoming the first rider to break the 17-minute mark.
He will defend that title and compete in three other races at the 2017 event onboard Suzuki’s new GSX-R1000 bike.
Michael said: “When you’re hitting speeds of 200mph you need to be able to trust the equipment that you’re using and D3O plays a vital role in my Furygan race suit.
“It’s good to see how the factory actually does it and give my feedback. We’ve already been talking about chest and arm protectors.
“Hopefully I can help with the development and making it safer and better for everybody.”
Jean-Marc Autheman, Furygan Racing Manager, said: “We are starting our fifth year of development for Michael and our ninth year of partnership with D3O in a very exciting way.
“We will use Michael’s expertise, experience and very demanding discipline to push forward together on developing new integrated impact protection solutions that work for all motorcyclists, whether on the road or the track.”
